Google Apps Marketplace Launches
In its continued effort to find ways to make a businesses' to the cloud more attractive, at Campfire One last night Google announced the Google Apps Marketplace.
Google Apps already has over 25 million people and over 2 million business on board, making it a market ripe for plucking, and the new marketplace will offer a wide array products and services that are designed to extend the base Google Apps suite. They're easy to download and install, and integrate tightly with Apps, fitting neatly into the navigation structure
Like the marketplaces we've all come to know from Apple and Android, developers will be allowed to sell products and services through the Apps Marketplace. The revenue sharing deal is solid, too, with Google getting just 20% of the price of the app as opposed to the 30% they keep in the Android Market.
With companies like eFax and FreshBooks already on board (among the tons of others) this is a great move, and looks like it could be a huge success.
