Google Personalized Search Challenges SEO Market
Google has recently announced "Personalized Search for Everyone" even when a particular user is not signed in. As Google said on their blog, "When you search using Google, we will be able to better provide you with the most relevant results possible."

Google will attempt to show you results based on your previous interest history and will present you results from your favored sites.
Currently this feature has following characteristics:
- It is based upon 180 days of search activity linked to an anonymous cookie in the browser.
- It's completely separate from Google Account and Web History (which are only available to signed-in users)
- A "View customizations" link will appear on the top right of the search results page to let user see what customization Google has to offer.
- Google is focusing a lot on customization and personalization; is it a counter-effort against SEOs?
- Will it kill variety from SERPs and only established brands and authority sites will rank better and most? Will new sites suffer as a result?
- The search market is growing consolidated; is the arrival of new authority sites more challenging?
- Also, it is not necessary that a researcher is always interested in seeing results from favorite sites only; what will that researcher's options be?
- How will Web site owners understand their site's ranking in Google now?
