Non-Compliant Offers: Google Places Rejects Them
What’s new?
If Google finds a quality or policy violation in any offers in Google Places, Google will reject those offers.
Details:
“This affects businesses that do not provide actual % discounts or dollar value off.”
Business owners’ whose offers were suspended do receive a clear email stating the reason of suspension. It also details about the guideline that was violated are also clearly stated.
The mail you will see is something like this:
So, what is a “good” offer according to Google?
- Google says that the offer must be a deal.
- There should be a monetary discount.
- OR an additional service that is not a regular service that your business provides.
- Promotional text placed as offers will be rejected.
- Offers that are generally free cannot be included here. Meaning- free quotes and consultations cannot be included here.
Well, there are some other criteria too, that are generally directed towards the offer model, Google says that you cannot use generalizations like “Best Offers in the area” or “Click here to win” etc.
The good part is Google also has a “Troubleshoot Your Offers Problem” which is a very simple process; you can indicate your problem and help yourself. Well, if the automated questions and answers do not help, you can still shoot them an email using the last option “I’m still not sure why my offer didn’t meet the guidelines.”
So, if you feel that your offer was rejected for no good reason, the very first step you must take is to re-read the guidelines, re-read your offer and check to see whether there are any loopholes. If all looks good, use the troubleshooter and finally send an email to Google.
