Seven Great Resources for Data Analytics and BI Insights
At first blush, subscribing to e-mail newsletters and RSS feeds seems like a good idea, but when are you going to read the content? You won’t, unless it’s valuable or a headline catches your eye. As a data analytics blogger for Spotfire’s Trends & Outliers blog, I have to wade through mucho material to get ideas and stay abreast of trends.
That’s why I’m sharing seven of my favorite resources available via e-mail and RSS feed to help you gain a better understanding of trends and news in the data analytics and business intelligence spaces.
Resource 1: Information Management’s Blog Newsletter
Delivered each Wednesday, the Information Management Blog Newsletter brings you insights and commentary from their impressive blog roll, which includes analysts and consultants who have their finger on the pulse of the industry.
Resource 2: James Kobielus’ Blog RSS Feed
A senior research analyst with Forrester Research, Kobielus’ blog focuses on many data analytics topics, but he often covers social BI, a hot topic in the business intelligence space. His blogs come out about once a month and are definitely worth a read.
Resource 3: Blog Notion’s Email Updates
BlogNotion.com’s e-newsletter is full of new ideas for analyzing data and provides perspectives on topics such as how the IT managers need to think about BI from a Millennial's perspective.
Resource 4: BeyeNetwork.com’s Business Intelligence Trends Newsletter
BeyeNetwork.com is a valuable collection of BI and data analytics blogs, whitepapers, podcasts and videos. However, if you don’t want to experience information overload, check out the Business Intelligence Trends Newsletter. Delivered monthly, you’ll get a three-part article series (one per issue) on a BI trend, notifications of webinars and events and a list of recently published whitepapers.
