The first USB 3.0 external hard drives will reach Australia’s market by the end of January 2010, a spokesperson for Western Digital announced.

Western Digital USB 3.0
Western Digital announced My Book 3.0 external hard drive at the CES 2010 technology trade show and by that it would be placed amongst the first producers of USB 3.0 connectivity devices. You can find this external hard drive with two capacities: 1 TB or 2 TB. The USB 3.0 conectivity will provide faster file transfer rate.

Seagate announced too a USB 3.0 equipped external hard drive but with 500 GB capacity, named BlackArmor PS110. You can buy this device in USA directly on Seagate’s website for $179.99. BlackArmor PS110 comes with an ExpressCard/34 adapter card which enables a USB 3.0 connection.

Many of those who own a desktop PC or a laptop will have to upgrade their computers to have this device active or to buy new ones.

This will generate a large income for those who sell hardware equipped with USB 3.0 because as the time passes by, you’ll no longer be able to use the new technology products as they will live USB 2.0 behind and go for USB 3.0 as it is offering a faster transfer rate and connection.
