There is something about hearing familiar cover songs that just elicits the most interesting emotions. Generally, already knowing the song helps and you have an instant familiarity with the music. Second, if the cover of the song is rousingly most excellent, well, that helps too. As is the case of soul singer Charles Perry and his cover of "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. It's a light, soulful and fun take on the modern original classic (made popular through heavy use in commercial & TV spots.)
