Do Lawmakers Even Know What DNS Means?
With the recent controversy surrounding the proposed SOPA legislation, lawmakers have been throwing around a lot of terms that they might not be entirely familiar with. Their justification for the SOPA legislation was rogue sites transmitting pirated material, this initiative of course being backed by the MPAA and RIAA. There's some big money lobbying right there. The problem is, that the side effects would have been pretty much catastrophic. The problem is, that lawmakers only cared about the lobbyists whispering in their ear, and stuffing money in their pockets. It was up to the people to stand up, and they did. So here, a video for the lawmakers who might not understand things like DNS and what they are messing with when they take on the infrastructure of the internet.
