Eli Roth Adapts Fake Clown Trailer
A fake movie trailer recently caught the eye of fIlmmaker Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) when the amateur production tried to pass itself off as an upcoming film by the successful filmmaker. It all began in good fun. Jon Watts and Christopher Ford wrote and directed the mock trailer for Clown—"the story of a dad who puts on a clown suit for his son's birthday, but can't take it back off…"—and put Roth's name in the credits as a joke. Roth saw the trailer and liked it so much he set up a meeting with the duo. Now he's signed on to produce an adaptation of the trailer with first-timer Jon Watts helming. There's a happy ending for you.
