Every Location Around the World has a Story
As days roll along in our lives, we forget that there are other places around the Globe that even exist. We get so caught up in our own routines that the pages on the calendar flip by like a children's book.
Have you ever heard of Phuket, Thailand? It's an island off the south-west coast. It is approximately the size of Singapore and is connected to mainland by two bridges. According to Wikipedia, the island was on one of the major trading routes between India and China, and was frequently mentioned in foreign ship logs of Portuguese, French, Dutch and English traders. The region now derives much of its income from tourism.
This video shows the beauty of the island from the tourists perspective, but also shows how poverty-riddled the natives are. It's a delicate balances of paradise and hardship.
