Glenn Beck's Awkward, Creepy, Unsettling Ode To Sarah Palin - via Jon Stewart
The last honest man in news, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, does a hilarious mash-up of Silence of The Lambs' Dr. Hannibal Lecter during his terrifying quid pro quo with FBI agent Clarice Starling — by way of Glenn Beck's over-the-top tribute to Fox News' most recently acquired talent, former GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin. It's one of those moments when you wonder if the bizarre, awkward exchange was planned on purpose as a stroke of mad genius in strange TV moments designed to bewilder the audience. Or the alternative: Glenn Beck's certifiably insane.

Interestingly enough, I had assumed the 6th seal of Hell would have opened up the moment Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck met. Like splitting an atom, I would have anticipated an explosion of epic proportions with the meeting of such staggering ignorance, pomposity and narcissism. But instead, we have an all too long moment of uncomfortable silence, a disturbing display of one mammoth double-chin only to be met by a vacuum of vapidity. It's like all the intelligence was sucked out of the room.
Come to think of it, this is exactly what we should have expected. Bravo Mr. Stewart, bravo.
