Meet the Science Cheerleaders
The Science Cheerleaders are a group of current and former professional NBA and NFL cheerleaders who also happen to have careers or backgrounds in science and engineering. In this clip, they perform live at the U.S.A. Science and Engineering Festival in Washington D.C. and explain just what it means to be a Science Cheerleader. Sure, the whole "smart women can be sexy too" idea is an easy sell—try convincing the general public that unattractive women are still valuable to society—but if it's helping more little girls grow up to pursue careers in the sciences, it's hard to complain.
