It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of the Monks of Mellonwah. Anyone who read my article, "Best Band You've Never Heard Of: The Monks of Mellonwah", knows that I am beyond convinced that these men are the total package: talented, good looking, original, and passionate. As someone who largely writes about music, I know a good song when I hear one.

"Neverending Spirit" is played almost daily on my Ipod. It is a truly beautiful song that is meant to honor lost loved ones. The song expresses memories that come alive as they share them with us. At first, we are greeted by a grainy black and white countdown. The opening guitar line sets a nostalgically haunting tone for the first few bars of the song. Shortly after, Bill Maher's deep vocals fill the air and Josh Baissari begins to keep pace on the drums. All four men are in the shadows telling us a story through what appears to be real home movies.

The Monks of Mellonwah are still very new on the scene. However, they are worth a look and definitely one of the bands that I try to keep up with. Although, relatively unheard of across the Atlantic, these Aussies are just as good (if not better) than most of the bands out there today. The Sydney-based band has begun to establish themselves slowly in the U.S. and most of us are rooting for them.

Now, if you live in Australia, you need to get tickets to see them live! For the record, by getting tickets, I mean getting them right now! On August 3rd, they will be playing at the Australian Hotel and Brewery on Sydney. Click here for more featured tour dates!

Lucky for us, there are also some rumors going around that this amazing band will be in the United States. So, we should all hope that those are true!
