Put This On Pilot Episode: Denim
Jesse Thorn of The Sound of Young America and Adam Ligasor (@lonelysandwich) of You Look Nice Today have teamed up to produce Put This On, "a web series about dressing like a grownup." They've already shot a pilot episode and it's awesome.
This is like This American Life for dudes that like clothes. Or, at the very least, dudes that want to stop dressing like slobs. And it's not exactly haute couture stuff either. The first episode focuses on denim—manly, rugged blue jeans. In the first segment, Thorn interviews a vintage-style denim tailor who takes obvious pride in his $500 (!) retro denim.
The show also features tips on how to wash & wear your jeans, suggested purchases (for low, medium, and high budgets), and rudimentary fashion tips (match your belt to your shoes!) presented by a deadpan Ligasor.
Put This On is currently seeking Kickstarter funding to produce a complete six-episode season of the series, and if this pilot is any indication of quality, it's probably worth chipping in a few bucks.
