Shrek Stumps for USDA Forest Service
You figure with all the cash Shrek has raked in, he, Donkey, Puss and Co. wouldn't have to live in the swamp anymore, never mind stump for organizations in advertisements.
In all seriousness, however, the USDA Forest Service is hoping he lovable green, frumpy character is the star of a new ad campaign that aims at encouraging kids to spend more time outdoors and re-connect with nature.
The USDA Forest Service hooked up with the Ad Council and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. to launch a new series of public service advertisements featuring Shrek characters.
Hank Kashdan, Associate Chief of the Forest Service, will unveil the PSAs on June 11 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in coordination with National Get Outdoors Day (June 12). The ads will be distributed to media outlets nationwide this week.
