SXSW 2010: Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass
Matthew Vaughn's highly-anticipated feature film Kick-Ass will debut tomorrow evening to kick-off the SXSW film festival.
The film sounds like a fanboy's wet dream. Based on the comic by Mark Millar, Kick-Ass tells the story of a a nerdy kid who suits up in a superhero costume to fight crime in his town, becoming known as "Kick-Ass" and inspiring a wave of vigilantes across the country.
But don't let the DIY premise fool you. This is a slick, big budget production. It looks like it's probably a blast though, bringing a much-needed breath of fresh air to the superhero genre.
