Tea Partier Vaughn Ward Plagiarizes Obama
Hey, you guys, Vaughn Ward is an idiot! He is running for Congress in Idaho and he's endorsed by Sarah Palin. In fact, his website proudly proclaims (in identical images on the left and right of the header?) that Palin is "happy to support Vaughn Ward."
Then I'll bet she's really happy that Ward had just been caught lifting lines from Palin's sworn enemy, our president, Mr. Barack Obama!
Yes, apparently Vaughn Ward, proud Tea Partier, recently lifted several lines verbatim from Obama's rather famous 2004 speech at the DNC. Probably not a great idea! He's sort of the antithesis of your whole movement, you guys.
Aside from Ward's idiocy, this does expose one sort of sad truth: the best, most inspiring political rhetoric is still essentially empty and meaningless. If Ward can take Obama's words and use them for nearly the exact opposite cause, what does that say about the words to begin with? Are they really so painfully generic that anyone can speak them?
