TEDx: "Sustainable Perspectives on Videogames"
Recently at the first ever TEDx Exeter event in the U.K., popular game blogger Andy Robertson gave a very interesting and hopeful talk about video games called "Sustainable Perspectives on Videogames". The GeekDad focused speech aimed to engage a broader audience in gaming. For instance, Andy points out some of the depth in gaming that normal players might overlook, “..the presence of dark games helps us avoid inoculating ourselves or our children against darkness, loss and danger and helps us engage in those difficult subjects.”
More about TEDx: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
