The Monk & The Monkey
What happens when a boy named after a brand of spaghetti sauce wants eagerly to become a monk? Well, he's sent on a cryptic mission of course. What else would make sense? In this short film, when the boy, Ragu, is ready for his final test to train to be a monk, there is only one thing left to do: get a piece of fruit.
This is a wonderful piece of animation from Brendan Carroll & Francesco Giroldini, graduates of the Ringling School of Art & Design down in Sarasota, FL. A lot of great work has come out of this school over the years, produced by amazing artists. This is another great example of that.
Also, it features a monkey that obviously goes to the same barber as Sonic the Hedgehog.
