"The" Rudy Play
I was watching TV this morning and the 1993 movie "Rudy" was on. Being a sports fan, of course, I kept it on. It was the tail-end of the movie where Sean Astin, who plays Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, got the word he was finally going to dress up with the team and run out on to the field.
I finished watching the movie and of course, was sucked into the emotion of the last few minutes where Rudy became the unsung hero. Of course, the script is a little more dramatic than it real life unfolded. As a result, I had to dig up the actual footage and see for myself, how close the movie mirrored real-life.
