The Ten Commandments of Flirting With The Westboro Baptist Church
The Westboro Baptist Church doesn't have many friends. They are banned from the United Kingdom and are despised due to their pickets, notable those of fallen soldiers.While they make many of us angry (myself included), some Australian television personalities had a different reaction to them.

Taylor made a video about them for their show, The Chaser's War On Everything. While this video is a few years old, I recently found it on youtube and something hit me. These guys did something few Americans have done: they REALLY showed us how stupid the Westboro Baptist Church is.
As a writer, I love to analyze and point out what you- the ordinary person- may not notice. So, here is what I noticed from this video (please note the sarcasm and satire):
1. For a "church", they obviously don't know the bible very well. As an ethnic, non-practicing Catholic, I remembered two Bible verses that go against EVERYTHING that they are doing. First, is Leviticus 19:17-18 ("Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself"). The other is Matthew 5:39 ("turn the other cheek").
2.Claiming that gays and lesbians in our nation's military were responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks makes you look stupid. Seriously, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was around then.
3. In his sermon, Fred Phelps talks at length about "smearing feces and semen". Maybe it's a bit far-fetched, but, doesn't that sound like water sports to you? Ewwww.
4. While most people seem to like Sweden, the Westboro Baptist Church claims that "God Hates Sweden". Well, that's a bit much. However, lemmings seem to hate Sweden since they commit a mass suicide every year. You know the worst part? Lemmings are pretty cute. On that note, don't act like you don't shop at Ikea: we all know that all of your picketing costs a lot of money.
5. As mentioned in the video, it's not everyday when the conservative anchors over at Fox News defend gays. Good job, Shirley. VERY good job for lowering the standards of debate on Fox News!
