Two Photographers Killed in Action

Tim Hetherington, an award-winning war photographer was killed in the Libyan city of Misrata today. According to reports, his family said he was killed by a rocket-propelled grenade. A second photographer, Chris Hondros, who was in the field for Getty Images, has also died of wounds sustained in a battle in Misrata.

The images we see from the US's efforts around the world are incredible. The drama and bloodshed being played out comes directly into our livings rooms every night because of the brave efforts of the men and women carrying cameras and video equipment, not machine guns.
