Video: Glee's Jane Lynch's "Vogue" Better Than Madonna
Theater people are weird. I mean W.E.I.R.D. Which is why Fox's hit show Glee is so popular. There's nothing quite like watching socially awkward, theatrically-infused, jazz-hand wielding, drama-club kids displaying their campy joy. This is where our future stars cut their teeth, and while it may be a spectacle to behold, it's also delightfully fun from the safety of our seats in the audience.
Glee, which has become a bit of a phenomenon, plays on this bizarre voyeuristic ritual of watching those who are naturally uninhibited and live to perform. Theater people are a special breed and nobody can lampoon that world better than Hollywood - the land of make believe.
This week, the drama kids are paying tribute to Madonna in their inimitable style and it's only fitting that cheer-leading coach Sue Sylvester (played by the hilarious Jane Lynch) will be reenacting Madonna's iconic "Vogue" as the showcase for the episode. Madonna's the classic gay dance icon, and Glee's overarching theme is centered around a gay-friendly culture.
Check out the audacity above. *claps wildly*
