Watch Radiohead's Fan-Made Live in Praha Recordings
Radiohead's pay-what-you-want distribution model for their 2007 LP In Rainbows was a bold move by one of the world's most popular bands. Now they've gone and done it again. Sort of.
Live in Praha is a fan-made document of a Radiohead concert at Prague's Výstaviště Holešovice Exhibition Hall on August 23, 2009. 50 fans shot the concert with handheld cameras and the footage was edited together into a full-length performance document. Radiohead liked the project so much that they offered their own audio masters from the show to the filmmakers.
And, like In Rainbows, the entire this is available for free download.
This isn't the first time something like this has been done. The Beastie Boys handed out 50 camcorders in 2006 to source the footage for Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That!. In that film, the montage style fit with the band's scrappy, sample-heavy sound. Here the fractured cinematography underscores Radiohead's own paranoid tendencies and love of digital glitchery.
You can watch the trailer below or just go ahead and download the whole concert in a whole range of HD and SD formats.
