Xiu Xiu Get 8-Bit in Latest Music Video
Avant-pop group Xiu Xiu have a new video, animated entirely in 8-bit video game style. "This Too Shall Pass Away (For Freddy)" is the first single off their latest album, Dead God, I Hate Myself. The colorful pixel art in the video fits with the song's chiptune aesthetic, but don't let the goofy exterior fool you, these guys are still as scary-sad as ever!
After watching the video twice, I still haven't really figured out what's going on. Somehow the story (is it even a story?) involves moon people, some complicated sexual liaisons, and copious amounts of digital booze. Sounds like my kind of party!
