It is no secret that women are complicated creatures. However, like diamonds, they are truly beautiful. So, why are we so captivated by them?

In a study by OkCupid, a popular dating site, here are some of the trends that they found:

-Guys tend to ignore girls who are just "cute"

- If men within a group disagree, that ultimately increases her attractiveness.

In their data, they found that a woman rated as "hot" gets four times more messages than an "average" woman and twenty-five times more than an "ugly" woman. Women who were consistently rated well were less likely to get messaged than those whose ratings were across the board.  Shallow, much?

I guess the logical place to go is: what do men like? Does it vary across the board or is there a general trend?

Do men want skinny women? Sure, there are many beautiful slender women, like Victoria Beckham and Keira Knightly, who are incredibly attractive. However, think about the pinups/ women who could be pin ups: Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe, Katy Perry...need I list more? All men like breasts and nice rears — so, do skinny women typically have these assets? Just think. See if you agree with this statement:

"I like fit women. Skinny? Anyone can be skinny, but how many women can claim that they're fit? There's nothing more unattractive than a thin woman with no muscle tone. If that's the case, I'd prefer a more voluptuous woman, milky if you will."

Marilyn Monroe, whom I still idolize as the "perfect" ideal American woman, had measurements know across the world: 36-26-36. Now, today's standard has shrunk them to the following: 34-24-34. While the average American woman is a size 12, many in Hollywood are between a two and a five.
