Castration in California
I'm not sure how many of you have been keeping up with the news lately, but there was a woman who cut off her husband's penis and put it in the garbage disposal. Lovely? I think not.
About a week ago, a woman was jailed for drugging her husband, cutting off her husband's penis, and putting it in the garbage disposal. She began by poisoning his tofu soup. When he awoke, his feet and wrists were tied to the bed with nylon rope. As he awoke, his first site was his wife cutting off his penis. Surely, my first reaction would be that it was a bad dream. Sadly, that wasn't the case.
She severed the penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, tossed it in the garbage disposal, and turned it on. Doctors have not had any luck reattaching his penis.
When the police arrived, she informed them that he "deserved it". She has been charged with aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, poisoning, spousal abuse, torture, and administering a drug with intent to commit a felony. She is now booked in the Orange County Jail where she faces the possibility of life without parole. Her bail is set at one million dollars. She is set to be arraigned on September 23rd.
This case has created quite a stir. Who could do this? Why would you cut your husband's penis off? Did he hit her? The list goes on...However, my question is much simpler: why couldn't they have just been blunt and simple with the charges? Was it too much to say that she cut off her husband's manhood?
