piers morgan interviews o'donnell

Wait wait wait… are you even allowed to walk out on Piers Morgan? He may be the most loved and hated talk show host in the UK but, he sure asks the best questions. And by best, I do mean pressing the point until the guest answers or, in this case, ends the interview!

We all remember Christine O’Donnell and her spectacle of a race for Senator. I can say I am relieved she did not win because of my home state residency in Pennsylvania and, living that close to a wild firecracker like O’Donnell might have been unpleasant for me and my friends in DE. That aside, O’Donnell recently released a book and has been making appearances to promote it. The book is (ironically appropriately) called “Trouble Maker.” I have not read it but apparently Piers Morgan has.

I did not see the entire interview but, Piers begins the clip by asking her if she supports gay marriage and this is O’Donnell’s reply:

--> “You’re getting, ya’ ya’ you’re borderline being a little bit rude. Ya’ know? I obviously want to talk about the issues that I choose to talk about in the book.” <--

Piers then asks her if she covers that issue in the book. She side steps the question from this point on. She claims it’s irrelevant, that she isn’t running for a position, so it’s not important. However, she was discussing these topics just months ago. She drones on with other manufactured statements to resist answering Piers with her true feelings – that she does not support gay marriage. O’Donnell is flustered from this point on. Why not just answer the question Christine? Are you comfortable hiding behind words of a book but scared to discuss the issues in person? Stand up for what you believe in and be a true American. Speak your mind and let the people hear your platform. We don’t care if you’re running or not. You’re an author now, right? Still a public position so let it all hang loose, girl. We already know your views so what is the point in hiding them?
