This weekend, lil’ ol’ me plus another 140,000 other tech crazies descended upon the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to preview the hottest tech gizmos and gadgets. I should rephrase that … 130,000 men and about 10,000 women were there. Just a guess on the male-female breakdown, but you get the picture. CES has traditionally been a guys’ show and a bit of an old boys’ club. Not this year. Technology for School – Active kids equal smarter students.

HOPSports is about the “future of physical education.” Seems almost like an oxymoron for California, where teaching jobs are in constant jeopardy and phys ed is quietly disappearing. With a little can-do action, parents can bring a state-of-the-art physical education program to local schools. Ranging from $10K to $20K, it will involve some grant writing or fund raising, but the result is healthy kids and a spike in test scores up to 35%.

The HOPSports Training Systems uses a media center and sports equipment to offer fitness training while teaching K-12 students about nutrition and health. There are more than 250 fitness lessons or 3 years of repeatable content for a variety of sports and activities. Plus, HOPSports includes 90 Brain Breaks (10 minutes each) delivered by celebrity athletes that promote character development, nutrition, health and accelerated learning. Digital instruction, combined with video game quality graphics, athletic sports equipment and motivational know-how from respected athletes get kids moving, learning and taking responsibility for their own health. Check out the site, which also offers a grant finder page and grant writing help.

Private Location-Sharing App – Not everyone cares where you’re at.

Not everywhere you go, just the places that really matter with the people who actually care. Neer is private and automatic location sharing, for those times when you’ve wanted to know…
