The Coffee - Page 2
My friend Sue (who is a contributor for DC Metro Moms) has referred to it as "parenting induced ADD" and that rings true, because the kids need something, the housework is never ending, and in the end a Mom can only do her best, right? Truth is, though, I've always had these disorganized tendencies. Yet, I do notice it being more extreme since becoming a mother. It's at it's worst when everyone is home. Having four young boys brings it's own brand of chaos and is fraught with every imaginable type of distraction.
I've learned to adapt. I make lists and lists and still more lists. I go to bed at night running my next day's to do list through my head so I wake up remembering. I've learned that listening to music helps me stay focused on menial tasks so I can be more productive. My hope is to be able to teach my distractible child similar tricks and skills.
