 Essential fatty acids in the form of omega-3 and omega-6 are extremely valuable for the health of your skin.  They help in keeping the cell membranes strong and healthy as well as reducing any inflammation.  A daily dose of fish oil, krill oil, or flax seed oil will help to keep your skin strong, soft, and supple.
