It’s hard to deny the fact that Hilary Swank has a rockin’ body. The 36-year old actress sports six-pack abs, sculpted arms, long shapely legs and a firm butt—many traits that other women aspire to achieve. The good news is that with the right diet and exercise plan, most women can get just as buff as Swank. However, like any achievement, getting fit requires dedication and commitment to a women’s fitness program.
Swank is an avid athlete and works out regularly. While she may have access to trainers, private gyms and exercise classes, that doesn't mean she doesn't have to work hard to get the firm, svelte body. A fitness plan that combines cardio with strength training exercises usually works best. Cardio exercises help to burn fat and build endurance, while strength training exercises shape and sculpt the muscles.
Beautiful six-pack abs are easier to achieve when the exercises follow the Pilates principle of engaging the core muscles. These balls can be purchased at most sports stores that carry exercise equipment. Many gyms incorporate exercise or balance balls with various weights and cardio equipment. The good thing about using an exercise ball for otherwise ordinary exercises is that it requires additional use of the core abdominal muscles in order to stay balanced on the ball.
