Is Angry Birds Making My Child Too ... Angry? - Page 2
After all, I’ve never heard her shout at the cheerful chimp on Monkey Preschool Lunchbox.
But that’s because up until now there have been no “bad guys” in her games. And that’s where I feel I’ve stolen a bit of her gaming innocence by showing her these bad guys as well as delighting in their punishment. And that punishment isn’t exactly pretty. (Don’t get me wrong. It’s no Grand Theft Auto, but even the sight of pigs exploding in a clean, green puff is a little tricky to explain as a parent.)
If anything, I hope she realizes that it’s just a game – albeit one that requires a bit of strategy. And that name-calling isn’t nice, especially when it comes to real people – real people who haven’t stolen a nest full of eggs, that is.
Kidding. Only kidding.
