Kim Kardashian's Opinion on "Teen Mom"

CNN has recently quoted Kim Kardashian stating the obvious: MTV's "Teen Mom" is partially to blame for the increase in teen pregnancies in this country. Kim's lashing out upon finding out that ninety girls at a Memphis high school are pregnant to try to get on the show.
"I find it so sad and disturbing. I would have never wanted to take on this responsibility at this age!" she wrote on her blog recently. Quite frankly, I couldn't agree more. While I feel that teen moms should make the best out of their situation, this is not something that should be idolized. I agree that having a child is a life-changing experience and, from mothers of all ages, including my own, know that women's lives change drastically with adoption and/or childbirth.
While the show is meant to reveal how difficult teen pregnancy is, many high school girls don't understand that. Many teens do not receive effective information on contraceptives and this is very dangerous since raging hormones can lead to sex. So, what can we, as role models and adults, do to combat this problem?
