Stay at Home Moms of the World, Unite! - Page 2
At one point during the club tour, Chad said about being a stay at home mom, "I know how hard that is." Really, Chad? Somehow I doubt that he did or he would not have given me the hard time that he did. As much as I was upset about how he treated me, I am more disappointed with myself for not having stood up for myself and for SAHMs in general. I think I was in shock because, in the two years I've been a SAHM, I've never been treated with such disrespect. But now I'm ready. I'm on the offensive. The next time I feel like anyone is speaking down to me or questioning my intelligence because I don't have a corporate title next to my name, that person is going to get all the facts and figures behind the sacrifice a SAHM makes every day. Anyone who has taken care of a baby or toddler for even one entire 24 hour period knows how difficult it can be, from the feedings to the toilet issues to keeping him/her occupied without resorting to endless hours of television/DS/youtube. And all of that is apart from the sacrifice of talent and creativity stay at home moms and dads make that would have been highly compensated by working. To quote Howard Beale in Network, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
