Let Us Remember the Victims on Veteran's Day
On this Veteran's Day, let us remember in prayers those who have fallen and those who remain. All are victims of the sin-filled world we live in today.
Today, the nation and the country are outraged at the alleged sexual assaults on 8 boys committed and covered up by the Pennsylvania State University. It appears that based on the demands in the media, on blogs, on Twitter and around office coolers, the heads and arms and legs and hearts of these male dominated institutions are rolling and will continue to roll until these men finally understand the message.
However, the dirty little secret kept by the most powerful male dominated institution in the entire world to ever exist, is still kept secret. For if the nation and the world would rise up with one voice against these men who sweep it under the rug, then we would never be the same again. That secret is that the United States Military rapes it own women and then covers it up with lies and inaction as shameful as the ones that allegedly took place by Jerry Sandusky, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, Graham Spanier, and Joe Paterno.
So today, on this Veteran's Day let us remember with our prayers the victims of Military Rape. On nine different occasions, Jackie Speier, a Democrat form California has called on Congress to speak out against the pervasive problem of rape in the military. The last time was in October 2011. She keeps telling the stories of women who were sexually assaulted while serving in the United States military.
“Each of these military members has served proudly for their country, each of them has been raped, and each has been re-victimized by a system of justice that protects perpetrators and punishes victims. I will continue to share these stories until something changes.”
One compelling story Ms. Speier tells is about an Army chaplain who told a woman it was God's will for her to be raped. Now, I shall tell you another more personal story.
