Make Fast Food at Home
There are so many reasons why you shouldn’t take your kids to fast food restaurants. Don’t know? Let me fill you in:
1) Processed foods
2) Deep fried-saturated fat
3) Hydrogenated vegetable oil
4) Trans fatty acids
7) No nutritional value
8) Too much salt and sugar
9) No vegetables
10) Heart Disease
Do any of these ten items make you want to eat at a fast food restaurant or encourage you to take your children there? I sincerely hope not.
We’ve all heard it over and over again in the media that the United States ranks #1 for obesity.
Why do we continue to see new fast food chains popping up every day in this country? We are eating at these restaurants and are giving our children money to eat at these places, which is helping them profit and grow.
We should be frightened that we are the number one nation. Our children’s children won’t be around very long if we continue this cycle. Isn’t it our responsibility to stop it? Try making dinner at home. If you are truly in a hurry, make a sandwich. Don’t come up with an excuse to go through a drive-thru. You’ll save yourself money, time and help the environment by making a sandwich at home.
Here’s a great list to get you started:
1) Quesadillas with Salsa Fresca and Guacamole
2) Whole Wheat Pasta with Homemade Marinara and bread
3) Veggie Burgers w/Sweet Potato Fries
4) Turkey Sloppy Joes w/Steamed Broccoli
5) Fried Rice
