Swine Flu Vaccination and Other Questions That Keep Me Up at Night - Page 3
The vaccinations are so new. What if they aren't safe? There is Thimerosal in the widely available flu and swine flu vaccines. I know there is no "proof" about Thimerosal, but the evidence was strong enough for the FDA to work on removing it from most every other vaccine that is given to kids under six, so how come it is ok now? For the flu?
I have no medical background so maybe I shouldn't even say this out loud, but what is happening to our bodies' natural abilities to fight off things if we keep assisting them with vaccinations. Remember when you heard that antibacterial soap can actually lead to 'super-virus' situations? If that is true, how is vaccinating for every common childhood illnesses like the flu any different? Where will that leave us later?
I told you I had no opinion-just lots and lots of questions. To me, there are more questions than answers right now about these newer vaccinations. The biggest question being what is a greater risk-associated vaccination complications or a potentially sick kid for a few days?
I wish someone could tell me-conclusively that is. This is an original post for New Jersey Moms Blog. Cristie can be found grabbling with other tough decisions over at www.thetravelingcircus.com.
