Pleading Guilty: Abortion Worker Scissored Newborn
On Wednesday, an abortion worker plead guilty to two counts of third-degree murder in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The woman, Lynda Williams, was involved in the killing of a newborn baby and a woman at an abortion clinic.
Ms. Williams, 43, admitted in court to using a pair of scissors on Baby C to kill the newborn. She was also involved in the overdose death of a Virginia woman who traveled to the city for an abortion at the clinic. The clinic was operated by Dr. Kermit Gosnell. A condition of her plea agreement with prosecutors is that Ms. Williams cooperate in the case against Dr. Gosnell and other defendants.
The 70-year old Dr. Gosnell still faces first-degree murder charges along with many other felony charges. If convicted, he could get the death penalty. Dr. Gosnell operated abortion clinics in West Philadelphia and the “butcher-shop” known as Atlantic Women's Medical Services Inc. in Wilmington.
Dr. Gosnell's wife, Pearl, still faces charges of performing a late-term abortion.
Others who have plead guilty in crimes at the abortion clinic include: Sherry West, Kareema Cross, Adrienne Morton, and Steven Massof,
Ms. Williams faces a sentence not to exceed 200 years in prison.
