The Ruby Slippers and Louboutin...Epic History

Sorry, Christian Louboutin, your house wasn't the first, even so, we still adore you.
One of the original pair of red ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland for the character of Dorothy in the epic movie "The Wizard of Oz" will be up for auction on December 16th. This particular pair is marked #7 Judy Garland on the inside of the shoes and yes, the soles are red. This is one of the said original 10 pairs of ruby slippers made for the movie. Today on GMA, a representative from the California auction house, Profiles in History, who will be hosting the auction, said that this pair was the pair in the scene when Dorothy's house fell on the Wicked Witch Of the East in Munchkin Land and she, "poof" disappeared and only the shoes were left. These #7 pair of ruby slippers are said to be in mint condition since they were used for "pretty" shots in the movie, such as the one above.
The closest I might get to the original ruby slippers is the Bianca by Louboutin. Jimmy Choo on-line has them on sale now. I might forgo the original pair, make up a real life story of my own about always having the power and adorn myself in this lovely "updated" version by Louboutin.this holiday season. On sale or not, they are HOT.
Who knew this 1939 movie about Kansas, witches and wizards would become so epic....maybe visionaries like J.K. Rowlings. Harry Potter memorabilia anyone?
