LED light technology in certain wavelengths and colors can improve your skin drastically and in many different ways. These wavelengths have the ability to penetrate into your skin producing visible results. The two types of light therapy promote healthy skin but in significantly diverse ways. So what is the difference between blue and red light therapy?

Red light therapy penetrates deep into the layers of the skin and tissue repairing, renewing, regenerating, and most importantly healing damage that has occurred. Red light therapy systems, such as the DPL Light or the DPL Nuve, rejuvenate the skin and alleviate pain and inflammation. They are simple to use and over time will help you obtain younger looking skin.

Red light therapy has been shown to reduce wrinkles, diminish scarring, shrink pores, reduce discoloration, and speed up the healing time of blemishes. It is a technology that can be used to renew your complexion, making you look younger.

Blue light therapy, on the other hand, doesn’t penetrate quite as deeply as red light therapy but penetrates deep enough to kill the bacteria that cause acne. Blue light therapy devices, such as the Tanda light, help to prevent and treat blemishes encouraging more clear and even skin.

Blue light therapy is a great option for anyone struggling with mild to moderate acne. It doesn’t cause any redness or irritation and isn’t harmful or harsh to the skin. You can combine blue light therapy with red light therapy to kill the bacteria and speed up the healing of any existing blemishes, giving your skin a one-two punch.

Although, they produce very different results both forms of light therapy promote healthier skin. Red light therapy rejuvenates your skin while blue light therapy prevents and treats acne. They can be used together or separately depending on what results you are hoping to achieve. Both technologies are gentle, painless, non-invasive, and extremely effective.
